Pictures From My Visits Of Plymouth And South East Cornwall

This page of my site features pictures from my visit to the historic Seaport of Plymouth and South East Cornwall. Pictures in the order of 1 to 8 are highlites of the City's main attractions' such as Smearton's Tower, Formerly The Eddystone Lighthouse and The Barbican, Some of Plymouths old Street corners based around The Harbour. Pictures in the order of 9 to 16 are from a boat trip to The Twined Cornish Fishing Villages of Cawsand and Kingsand. Like Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire, These twined villages once operated the largest smuggling fleets in Cornwall. Pictures in the order of 17 to 21 are from a day out on one of  Devon and Cornwall's, Most scenic Railways, Known as the Tamar Valley Line. Pictures in the order of 22 to 25 are from my visit to the picturesque holiday resort and fishing town of Looe situated on the south east part of the Cornwall Coast and is reachable on the Looe Valley Line with a connection at Likeard from the main London Paddington to Penzance Line. Pictures in the order of 26 to 30 are from a visit to Polperro, Another of Cornwalls most loveliest tourist villages situated about three miles south west of Looe Bay.

Plymouth. This is in Hoe Park, looking East towards Smeaton's Tower and was taken during Summer 2006

Plymouth. This is looking down towards The Hoe Seafront area and taken during Summer 2006.

Plymouth. This is looking South West across The Sound, Towards Drake's Island and was taken Summer 2006.

Plymouth. This is in The Barbican area, looking towards the busy Harbour and was taken during Summer 2006.

Plymouth. This is in The Barbican, Looking into Southside Street and was taken during Summer 2006

Plymouth. This is looking into New Street, In the Barbican part of the City and is where the Barbican Theatre and Elizabethan House is located.

Plymouth. This is in the Quay Road area of the City, Around the corner from Southside Street in The Barbican area.

Plymouth. This is Looking towards the South West end of the Sea Front, Looking over towards The Devonia Hotel, With clear views across The Sound.

Cawsand Bay. Taken on a boat trip from Plymouth, During Summer 2006.

Cawsand Bay. Situated in South East Cornwall and is twined with the fishing village of Kingsand.

Cawsand. One of Cornwalls most pictureque fishing villages.

Cawsand. This is in the village square, looking over towards The Cross Keys Inn, A recomended Pub for Bar Meals

Cawsand Bay. This is looking North, Over into the twined fishing village of Kingsand

Cawsand. This is looking down Fore Street, One of the villages narrow little back streets, As you approach towards the direction of Kingsand

Kingsand. This is at the North end of Cawsand Bay, Looking onto the sea front of Kingsand, With a distant view of Picklecombe Point.

Cawsand Bay. This is looking up one of the villages cosy little back streets and was taken during Summer 2006

Gunnislake. Situated by The River Tamar, In South East Cornwall, and this scene is looking into Commercial Street.

Gunnislake. A typical Cornish Country Village, With its pleasing coloured Cottages and this scene is Looking up Newbridge Hill, The main highstreet

The Rising Sun. Situated about half a mile South East of Gunnislake. Known as a popular country Inn.

Gunnislake. This scene is looking over The Tamar Valley, North East towards Hatch Wood and was taken from the train window.

Calstock. This is looking North West towards this village, with its picturesque harbour and was taken while traveling over its Magnificent Viaduct.

The picturesque holiday Resort of Looe situated 7 miles south of Liskard and this scene is in the harbour looking over to West Looe

Looe. One of the most visited tourist resorts of south East cornwall and this scene is looking inland towards the seafront of this resort.

Looe. This scene is on the seafront looking towards the eastside, with splended views of its clifftop cottages overlooking the Bay.

St George's Island or known as Looe Island, situated about 1 and a half miles out of land from Looe Bay and was taken during my visit of autumn 2008.

Polperro. Another of Cornwalls most lovely fishing villages, situated about 3 miles south west of Looe Bay.

Polperro. A popular picture postcard view of this picturesque fishing village with its white washed stone cottages and taken during autumn 2008.

Polperro. Still a busy fishing port and like Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire, this village had a long association with Smuggling during the 18th Century.

Polperro. This scene is in the harbour looking towards the south end of this fishing village and noted for its colourful boats.
